South American record
Sprinter · 50 & 100 m freestyle
Professional swimmer from Santos, Brazil. South American record holder over 50 m freestyle and Olympic finalist over 100 m.
Anatomy of a race
The shortest race in swimming leaves no middle ground: it is won off the block, held through the middle and defended over the last ten metres. Scroll to follow every split.
24.11s
Reaction time of 0.58 s off the block. Fifteen metres underwater on the dolphin kick — the fastest stretch of the entire race.
First stroke at 15 m. Peak speed hits 2.25 m/s before drag starts charging interest.
Fifty-eight stroke cycles per minute. This is where technique decides: holding distance per stroke while rate climbs.

The last ten metres without a breath. Losing speed is inevitable — the job is to lose less than the swimmer next door.

Career
Fifteen years of continuous progression, with no shortcuts.
2011
Joins the junior programme at Clube Atlântico Santista aged nine, after a whole summer of trying to keep up with her older brother.
2017
Wins the 50 m freestyle at the national junior championships and enters the federation development programme.
2020
Called up for the senior 4×100 m freestyle relay at eighteen, in a season with no international competition at all.
2022
Breaks the Brazilian 50 m freestyle record with 24.58 and moves to full-time training in Santos.
2024
Sixth over 100 m freestyle, the best ever placing by a Brazilian woman in the event, plus a 50 m semi-final.
2025
Two golds on home water: 50 m freestyle with a championship record, and the 4×100 m relay.
2026
24.11 over 50 m freestyle — the South American mark that still stands in her name.
2028
Stated goal: an Olympic podium over 50 m freestyle, and the 24-second barrier.
Method
Thirty-six hours of directed work a week. None of them improvised.
Over 50 m, the start accounts for a fifth of the total time. Six sessions a month go to the block alone, with a force plate and capture at 240 frames per second.
Stroke rate naturally climbs at the end of a race. Training inverts the logic: short sets at maximum fatigue with stroke count held fixed.
Lactate, segment speed and heart-rate variability have gone into the same sheet since 2021. Next week’s load comes out of those numbers.

Her start is the best on the continent. That is not an opinion, it is the clock talking.
Nicole turned the 50 m freestyle in Brazil into an event with a scheduled slot on national television.
Very few athletes can reproduce the same race shape under pressure. She reproduces it.
